Who I am

What information I collect

When you submit the consultation enquiry form, I collect your name, email address, phone number (if provided), your town or village, a description of your garden, and how you heard about me. If you subscribe to the seasonal email list, I collect your email address. This website also collects anonymised usage data through Cloudflare Web Analytics, which does not use cookies or track individual visitors.

Why I collect it and the legal basis

I use your enquiry information to respond to your consultation request and to arrange a visit to your garden. The legal basis for this is legitimate interest (responding to a request you have made). If you subscribe to the seasonal email list, the legal basis is your consent, which you can withdraw at any time by clicking the unsubscribe link in any email. Anonymised analytics data is collected under legitimate interest to understand how the website is being used and to improve it.

Who I share your data with

I do not sell or share your personal data with third parties for marketing purposes. Your enquiry form submissions are delivered to me via email. The website is hosted on Cloudflare Pages. The content management system is Storyblok. These services process data on my behalf and are GDPR-compliant.

How long I keep your data

Enquiry data is retained for 24 months from the date of your last contact with me. If an enquiry leads to a design project, project records are retained for six years in line with standard business practice. Email list subscriptions are retained until you unsubscribe.

Your rights

Under UK data protection law, you have the right to access, correct, or delete the personal data I hold about you. You also have the right to restrict or object to how I use your data, and to data portability. To make any of these requests, email me at sally@yorkshiregardendesigner.co.uk. I will respond within 30 days. If you are not satisfied with how I handle your data, you have the right to lodge a complaint with the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk).

Cookies

This website uses Cloudflare Web Analytics, which is a privacy-focused analytics service that does not use cookies and does not collect personally identifiable information. No cookie consent banner is required. Essential cookies may be used by Cloudflare for security and performance purposes (such as bot detection). These are strictly necessary and do not require consent under UK law.

I may update this privacy policy from time to time. The date at the top of this page shows when it was last updated.
